In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, I’m challenging myself to NonNoWriMo in June and July. It’s “Non” because, well, it’s not the national (or, we should say, international) event. However, Novel Writing Month(s) it is!

This summer, my goal is to write 1,000 words per day. At the end of two months, this should put me at 61,000 words–in other words, pretty darn close to a full first draft of my novel.

My work in progress is called Tiny Shadows. In this dystopian drama, abortion has been criminalized and fertile women are abducted for research in the name of sanctity of life. Averie Winters navigates her way out of captivity from a facility called RHEIA, the Reproductive Health and Early Infancy Advocates. With the reluctant help of Nolan Whittaker, a sperm donor she encounters in an escape attempt, Averie seeks the aid of radical politicians who operate undercover missions to expose facilities like RHEIA and win back women’s reproductive rights.

I look forward to sharing snippets, research, and insights as I delve into this adventure!
